  • Lightening and Severe Weather (Outdoor activity may resume 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder or flash of lightning. The 30-minute clock restarts every time lightning flashes or thunder sounds.)

EXTREME HEAT

ESS follows NYSPHSAA Heat Index procedures as well as SCSD decisions.

Summary: no outdoor activities if heat index is above 95, frequent water breaks and player monitoring for 80-95.

Note: ESS does not recommend downloading the Weather Bug app. The Weather Bug website or any other weather website reporting heat index information for 13210 is acceptable.

ESS will make a cancellation determination by 4pm on any day with extreme heat warning.
